About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, Senior member of the Systems Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) Interfaces team, you will serve as a liaison between diverse teams across multiple technical disciplines, both within and outside Lockheed Martin. Your role will involve facilitating and coordinating technical discussions to translate system requirements and architecture into agreed-upon design parameters. You will evaluate, communicate, document, and maintain design solutions, focusing on physical interfaces (mechanical fit, compatibility, and dynamic interoperability) in a complex system-of-systems environment. You will work both independently and as part of an integrated team to execute detailed action plans.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems at all levels, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions, acknowledging technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Facilitate coordination of technical discussions to align design parameters across teams.
- Focus on physical interfaces between systems and subsystems in a highly complex environment.
- Work independently and collaboratively to execute action plans involving multiple teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience (related internships/co-ops may be considered).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to work on-site at the Littleton, CO campus full-time.
Qualifications
- Experience with 3D parametric computer-aided design (CAD) modeling software, such as Creo and/or similar tools.
- Experience working with various engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, safety, test) to develop System Engineering products.
Desired Skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processes.
- Experience working within and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with design, integration, and/or test of mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with PTC Creo (and/or AutoCAD) to create physical interface models and drawings.
- Ability to create and manage Interface Control Documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and relationships.
- Knowledge of DOORS, CAMEO, requirements management, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience in systems engineering within a defense or aerospace environment.
- Experience coordinating Systems Milestones reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles.
- Ability to articulate technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, management, and customers.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $95,900.00 - $178,100.00. The salary offered considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations.
