About the role
Teledyne Monitor Labs has over 40 years of global experience in the design and manufacture of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), process monitoring, industrial sensors and instruments, ambient monitoring, and software. This position involves assembling custom engineered systems using project drawings, including modifications and changes during the build phases. You will work in a small shop team environment, building high-value systems for one of the top companies in the CEMS industry.
Responsibilities
- Assemble custom engineered systems using blueprints and project drawings, including modifications during build phases.
- Work with power tools, drilling, tapping, and pneumatic plumbing using soft and rigid tubing.
- Build devices from blueprints and interpret formal drawings.
- Troubleshoot and repair control instruments and devices as needed.
- Work with compressed air and gas pressures exceeding 100psi and voltages ranging from 12vdc to 480vac.
- Occasional travel for field service start-up of engineered systems (not required).
- Work overtime when schedules demand.
Requirements
- Approved apprenticeship or equivalent vocational school in electrical and electronics, or a 2-year technical degree, or military experience.
- Three to five years of practical experience in wiring to terminal blocks and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Experience troubleshooting measurement controls, instruments, and devices, including power supplies, pneumatics, gauges, valves, relays, flowmeters, regulators, and controllers.
- Understanding of both digital and analog logic and devices.
- Familiarity with basic machining and calibration techniques to assemble mechanical components and integrate them into systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Must be an initiative-taker, able to work with or without supervision.
Skills
- Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and soldering stations.
- Forklift operation (desired or will be trained).
- Basic machining skills (pipe threading, drilling, sanding, grinding).
Physical Requirements
- Work in a clean, temperature-controlled industrial area.
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Able to stoop, bend, reach, and use ladders comfortably.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
Pay
Salary range: $39,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year.
