About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team in Kinston, NC. Our team specializes in manufacturing critical aircraft components, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar for the Airbus A350 XWB.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • Conducts quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Disassembles, modifies, reworks, reassembles, and tests experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Trains to become MVP qualified.
  • Supports the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching, and assisting other employees.
  • Documents any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, standing, and walking.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of assembly techniques and processes.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and practices.
