About the role
Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, the Systems Analyst supports pharmacy staff and administration by ensuring pharmacy information systems function optimally and integrate with other facility informatics systems, while also providing training and technical assistance.
Responsibilities
- Maximize functionality of pharmacy information systems and integration with other informatics systems in the facility
- Serve as a technical resource for pharmacy and hospital personnel
- Facilitate training of pharmacy and/or other hospital personnel
- Daily: check Omnicell connection status; review new user additions/deletions, cabinet malfunctions, interface issues; review CSM and floor discrepancies; reconcile controlled medication overrides and unreconciled doses; review ED controlled medication transactions and exception reports; email nursing as needed; review Omnicell emailed reports (null transaction, resolved discrepancy)
- Regularly: check ServiceNow for access changes and problems; reconcile temp patient billing; check PSB report for repeat medications to add to Omnicells; add new medications into Cerner and Omnicell
- Handle access, hardware, and configuration issues as they arise
- Weekly: run usage reports and adjust cabinet stock for MBO issues; monitor “Stocked Items without Active Med Orders” and “Active Med Orders without Stocked Items” reports; monitor individual item stockout sheets and adjust based on 90-day usage
- Monthly: update monthly numbers dashboard; complete OR Potential Loss Report; review Diversion Report; email nursing as needed (Rx Auditor)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Pharmacy Technician License, or ability to become licensed within 3 months
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role, keyboard interfaces, and fax
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy processes
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated

Threshold Requirements
- Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service, and health requirements including new employee orientation
- TB/PPD Surveillance Program participation
- Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s)
