The IT Systems Analyst II will join the End User Computing (EUC) team, focusing on planning, coordinating, administering, and maintaining the organization’s software inventory. The core function of this role is to support the city’s software catalog.
Responsibilities
- Manage the ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional (SAMPro) application
- Lead the software asset management program
- Create, manage, and maintain the software catalog
- Oversee the software asset life cycle, including license models, entitlements, and metrics
- Manage software license inventory, compliance, and renewals
- Evaluate costs of purchasing and managing software assets
- Assess software usage and reclamation opportunities
- Improve IT software asset services for end users
- Collaborate with application portfolio management and service owners
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and software publishers
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation for software asset management
- Support end user and mobile hardware refresh and inventory initiatives
- Generate inventory reports
- Perform other duties as assigned by the EUC manager
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology-related field plus four (4) years of professional IT experience; OR any combination of education (above high school) and/or professional progressive IT experience equivalent to eight (8) years in systems analysis, design, and implementation of IT business applications
- Experience in roles such as Systems Analyst, Systems Business Analyst, or Programmer Analyst
- May require a current and valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of IT and business/industry work experience, including business analysis, requirements gathering, strategic development, testing, and software & hardware life cycle management
- Three or more years of experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management Professional
- Expertise in centralized, distributed, client-server, cloud, and standalone platforms
- Experience with IT infrastructure, environment management, and architecture
- Strong background in software and hardware inventory management
- Deep understanding of software licensing standards
- Strong analytical, research, and data compilation skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
