Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Systems Administrator on a 10-year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer.
About the role
All team members will collaborate to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment, and disposal of user-facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.
Responsibilities
- Independently develop technical solutions for the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architecture.
- Provide interpretation and troubleshooting support for systems matters and hardware/software issues that are moderately to highly complex.
- Perform advanced software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Apply advanced knowledge in monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Provide guidance to less experienced personnel on workstation/server data integrity and the implementation of standard software and hardware solutions.
- Lead complex data/media recoverability following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Evaluate and assess existing systems and plan long-term strategies.
- Configure and maintain networked computer systems, including hardware, system software, and applications.
- Conduct advanced to complex hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Train end-users on the proper use of hardware and software, including large groups.
- Coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
- Serve as a team or task leader (not a people manager).
- Consistently document work completed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a CI Poly.
- US Citizenship.
- Security+ or CASP certification.
- ITIL v4 Foundations certification.
Skills
- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Thin Client using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Technology.
- Windows 11, Windows 10, Citrix, SMS, and SCCM.
- End User Hardware: Thin Client, Thick Monitors, KVMs, Printers, Plotters, Print Server Configurations, VOIP phones.
- Desktop Image Management.
- Home Directory and Profile Support Services.
- E-mail Support Services.
- Software Support Services.
- Experience with Windows 7, Windows 10, Win11, Citrix, SMS, and SCCM.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements.
- Ability to move and lift computers, printers, monitors, and other hardware.
- Team player with enthusiasm and ability to adapt to new and changing technologies.
