Systems Administration (Operations Support Specialist)

About the role

The Systems Administration (Operations Support Specialist) position at Arcticom, LLC is located near a Marine Corps Base in the Jacksonville NC area, Quantico VA, San Diego/29 Palms, or Yuma AZ, with a wage/salary range of $100-130k. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serves as a technical expert in areas relevant to the project.
• Capable of demonstrating experience in conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
• Produces and reviews technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical areas.
• Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes to increase efficiency.
• Designs and implements monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment.
• Defines and documents best practices and support procedures.
• Provides after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend Maintenance.
• Maintains inventory and asset configuration documentation.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
• 10+ years experience as a system administrator.
• Linux experience.
• Security+ Certification.
• Must possess or be able to attain a DoD Secret security clearance, requires U.S. citizenship.
• Experience supporting DoD or government systems (if applicable).

Preferred

• Red Hat Certification.
• Docker.
• Elasticsearch.
• Master's degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
• Experience with Agile development.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Able to identify, analyze, and translate complex information; make appropriate judgements and evaluate options.
• Experience with implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Necessary Physical Requirements

• Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
• Maintain physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
