Systems Administration Specialist
About the role
The Department of Economic Development (DED) is modernizing its tax incentive and grant programs by automating manual processes, improving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and enabling quick setup of new programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the system ticketing and intake process, including prioritizing requests, coordinating with technical and program staff, and tracking issues and enhancements through completion.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to ensure data accuracy, system stability, and consistent performance across environments.
- Configure and optimize cloud-based tools, building and updating custom objects, fields, templates, flows, page layouts, and managing change sets across Development, UAT, and Production.
- Develop clear system documentation, including SOPs, user guides, process maps, and functional requirements.
- Provide user support and training, helping staff understand system updates, new functionality, and best practices.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs that support data-driven decision-making.
- Implement and maintain data governance practices, monitoring data quality, identifying issues, and executing corrective actions.
- Audit and document system needs for new or evolving programs, developing data dictionaries, crosswalks, and process flows to guide system design.
Requirements
- Administrator or developer experience and certification from Microsoft Dynamics 365, AWS, Salesforce, HubSpot, ServiceNow, or other major enterprise software/cloud vendors.
- Six or more years of relevant experience, which may include education such as a Bachelor’s degree in CIS, CIM, or a related field.

Skills
- Experience configuring and optimizing cloud-based systems, including building objects, fields, workflows/flows, and managing deployment processes.
- Experience writing clear technical documentation (SOPs, user guides, process maps, functional requirements).
- Ability to quickly understand and analyze complex business processes and translate them into system requirements.
- Ability to communicate system structure, design decisions, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Strong data analysis skills, including experience identifying data quality issues and applying data governance practices.
- Understanding of data structures, data models, and data relationships within enterprise systems.
- SQL experience, including writing queries, modifying tables, and ensuring data integrity.
- Ability to interpret process flow diagrams and create data dictionaries and crosswalks.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Smartsheet as a project management tool.
- Advanced Excel skills for data review, analysis, and validation.
- Experience preparing documents and requirements that support system design, implementation, or enhancement.

Pay
Annual salary range: $70,500 - $75,500 (based upon credentials)
Schedule
This is a temporary, full-time, benefit-eligible position that could end as early as December 2029.
