System Development Engineer, Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies
We are hiring a System Development Engineer to support the Wickr service on the Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies (PEET) team. You will design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and team's workloads.

You will work on some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world as part of AWS’s specialized group serving the U.S. Intelligence Community.
This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. After starting, you must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or equivalent for each government agency you support.
This role involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every six weeks. We prioritize fault-tolerant systems to minimize off-hours pages and collaborate to resolve root causes when issues arise.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 1+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $129,200 - $174,800 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
