System Development Engineer II, Platform Engineering & Emerging Technology
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Build solutions and work closely with Amazon's largest and most demanding government customers to address their specific needs across a suite of Cloud Computing and Governance environments
- Drive the resolution of technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience
- Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads
- Facilitate deep-dive troubleshooting and lead technical post-mortem discussions to identify the root cause of complex issues
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.
Pay
Base salary range: $129,200.00 - $174,800.00 USD annually. Final compensation determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
