Systems Development Engineer, Platform Engineering & Emerging Technology
About the Role
Do you enjoy helping U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve unique technical problems? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies and become a core part of the largest cloud infrastructure on the planet? AWS is seeking an ADC Engineer to own and advance mission-critical services in our Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC). We are looking for engineers to work as a team that gets excited about building new services and deploying them to air-gapped regions while supporting government customers operating in those regions. You'll be part of a truly innovative team in a fast-paced environment that has the entrepreneurial feel of a start-up.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues
- Developing monitoring solutions
- Performing software maintenance and configuration
- Implementing fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, C/C++, Java, Python)
- Updating, tracking, and resolving technical challenges
- Working alongside development on AWS projects
- Updating/enhancing current software
- Automation of support processes and documentation of systems
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience with tools for automation (building, testing, releasing, or monitoring)
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Python scripting language
- Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems
