Software Development Engineer II, Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies
We are hiring a Software Development Engineer to support the development of AWS Secret Cloud for Industry. You'll design, build, deploy, and monitor features to enhance the user experience for our customers, and create tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for workloads.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative solutions and solve complex technical problems. You will work on some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world.
This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. After starting, you must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency you support.
On-call responsibilities are required, typically for one week every six weeks. We strive to build fault-tolerant systems to minimize off-hours pages and collaborate to resolve root causes when issues arise.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and monitor components of the AWS Secret Cloud for Industry service.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay
Base salary range: $143,700.00 - $194,400.00 USD annually (Seattle, WA). Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
