About the role
The Survey Project Manager at Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is responsible for managing land surveying projects from initiation through completion. This role requires a professional Land Surveyor license, preferably, or Surveyor-in-Training status, along with a bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead land surveying projects from planning through final delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, contracts, invoicing, and overall project performance.
- Cook up and manage resources, and coordinate field and office teams for multiple concurrent projects.
- Provide technical oversight and, when licensed, prepare, review, sign, and seal survey deliverables, including plats, easements, exhibits, and right-of-way documents, as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety requirements, and SAM quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Support business development by identifying new opportunities, assisting with proposals, and strengthening client relationships.
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
- Represent SAM at client meetings, project discussions, and industry events.
Requirements
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred; Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) or candidates actively pursuing licensure will also be considered.
- Progressive experience in land surveying with demonstrated responsibility for coordinating projects, leading crews or office staff, or supporting project delivery.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, or other industry-standard survey software, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and client service.
Qualifications

Salary Minimum USD $90,000.00/per year
