About the role
As a Survey Project Manager at Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM), you will lead the successful execution of complex land surveying projects from kickoff to closeout, delivering high-quality results that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring project milestones, budgets, and standards are met across multiple active sites.
- Oversee day-to-day field/office operations.
- Participate in proposal writing and relationship management.
- Manage land survey projects from start to finish while ensuring services meet company quality standards, client specifications, and state standards.
- Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
- Establish project management plans and staffing for multiple land survey projects.
- Participate in local industry networking functions and maintain strong client relationships.
- Provide support to other internal operational units as needed.
- Manage project financial performance and provide reports and updates to leadership.
- Take ownership of team performance and development by overseeing, mentoring, and motivating the project team.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals.
Requirements
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred but not required in the state of SC.
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Established experience in land surveying with demonstrated project management responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, ORD, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentorship and team growth.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines, solve problems in real-time, and maintain high-quality standards under pressure.
