Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor all surveillance systems to detect suspicious activity, policy violations, or regulatory non-compliance.
  • Serve as shift lead by supervising Surveillance Operators and providing direction, coaching, and support during assigned shifts.
  • Oversee real-time monitoring of the gaming floor, back-of-house areas, cage, vault, count room, and restricted-access locations.
  • Ensure daily surveillance logs, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with internal and external investigations by gathering evidence, reviewing video footage, and reporting findings to leadership and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Review recorded surveillance footage upon request from management, Security, HR, or regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure Surveillance Operators adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal controls, and all applicable gaming regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with department leaders and regulatory representatives when necessary.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all surveillance operations, systems, and records.
  • Lead by example while contributing to a collaborative, professional Surveillance team.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of surveillance and security operations within a gaming environment.
  • Working knowledge of state gaming laws, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with surveillance systems, including digital and analog equipment.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills.
  • Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate video surveillance systems, computers, and related technology.
  • Proficiency with business software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and incident management systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.

Education and Experience

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of surveillance experience in a gaming environment.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, speak, hear, and use hands and arms throughout the workday.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Work is performed indoors within a surveillance control room and throughout the casino property.
  • Noise levels range from moderately quiet in the surveillance room to loud on the gaming floor.
  • Exposure to cigarette smoke may occur while on the gaming floor.
