About the role
We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to join a collaborative surgical services team supporting both Operating Room and Endoscopy procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Surgical Technologists as well as new graduates of an accredited Surgical Technology program. The team provides comprehensive orientation and on-the-job training to help new team members become successful in their role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
- Prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for assigned procedures.
- Assist surgeons, RNs, and other members of the surgical team during procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate instruments and supplies.
- Perform surgical counts according to established policies and procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning and operative site preparation.
- Maintain proper sterile and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
- Prepare and apply sterile dressings as required.
- Assist with room turnover, cleaning, stocking, and preparation for subsequent procedures.
- Properly handle instruments, sharps, supplies, and other surgical equipment.
- Maintain required competencies and participate in ongoing education and training.
- Support a safe, professional, and patient-focused surgical environment.
Schedule & Call
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday daytime schedule
- Weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation
- On-call availability is compensated at an additional $2.50/hour
- Candidates must be able to respond to the facility within 30 minutes when called in
- On-site accommodations are available for employees who live outside the required response area
Qualifications
Required:
- Completion of a Surgical Technology training program, military surgical technology training, healthcare-related training, or equivalent relevant training/experience.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and basic surgical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
- Willingness to learn and develop competency across assigned procedures.
- Ability to meet the required 30-minute response time while on call.
Preferred:
- Previous Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician, Surgical Scrub Technician, OB Technician, or related perioperative experience.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or another nationally recognized Surgical Technology certification.
- LPN experience in a surgical setting.
- New graduates are welcome to apply. Extensive prior surgical experience is not required, and training will be provided based on the individual's experience and learning needs.
