Surgical Technologist - Full Time - Days

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support surgical procedures by preparing and handling sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. The role involves assisting during surgeries, ensuring aseptic techniques, and maintaining surgical readiness, including verifying supplies and equipment prior to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical preparation, review preference lists, and obtain necessary supplies.
• Set up sterile fields and equipment, ensuring proper functioning and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons with tasks such as suctioning, retraction, suturing, and irrigating, under supervision.
• Support patient care at the end of surgery, including site cleansing, dressing, and transfer assistance.
• Process case carts, clean, and maintain a safe environment by following safety protocols and proper specimen handling.
• Promote teamwork, effective communication, and professional growth through participation in meetings, training, and peer support.
• Ensure compliance with universal precautions, maintain patient dignity and confidentiality, and adhere to productivity and cost-effective practices.

Qualifications

• Completion of surgical technology education or equivalent on-the-job training, with certification within six months.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and patient safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, ability to work under stress, and cultural competence.
• Ability to accept change, work collaboratively, and maintain professional growth.
