Surgical Technologist II-FT/Day Shift (Ben Taub Hospital)

About the role

The Surgical Technologist II (ST II) at Ben Taub Hospital supports surgical teams by providing aseptic techniques and maintaining proficiency with surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgical team in operative procedures using proper aseptic technique.
• Maintains current knowledge of equipment, sutures, and procedures being performed.
• Demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Certified as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing.
• Current CPR certification.
• One (1) year related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively, including above average verbal communication skills and heavy public contact.
• Must have medical terms knowledge and word processing skills.
