Surgical Technologist - Day Shift

About the role

Surgical Technologist responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures across all ages, preparing and maintaining sterile fields.
• Coordinate treatments with other disciplines and provide basic patient assistance.
• Manage surgical supplies, verify specimen collection, and maintain accurate counts of instruments and materials.
• Practice aseptic techniques, identify surgical sites, and participate in safety protocols.
• Disposables and specimen handling, wound assessment, and dressing changes.
• Participate in patient admission/discharge, billing, and on-call rotations.
• Serve as a preceptor for students and adhere to policies, standards, and quality control measures.
• Perform additional duties like specimen collection, patient transport, and post-mortem care.

Qualifications & Skills

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible, with training from a specialty program.

• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and safety protocols.

Work Environment & Schedule

Full-time, day shift with 10-hour shifts, on-call duties, and rotation to meet department needs. Up to every other weekend and holiday rotation may be required.
