About the Role

Surgical technologists are allied health professionals who are an integral part of the team providing surgical care to patients in the operating room (OR). They perform job duties that facilitate the safe, effective, and efficient care of surgical procedures. Surgical technologists assist in ensuring that the OR environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The surgical technologist possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile technique combined with knowledge of human anatomy, anesthetic types and procedures, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and technology to assist both the surgeon and anesthesiologist during operative procedures requiring general and regional anesthesia. The surgical technologist demonstrates knowledge and expertise in general and regional anesthesia. Duties may also include functioning as a unit support technician and in the OR core.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Surgical Technologist Program OR applicable military surgical technologist course of study
  • Minimum three years of current Surgical Technologist experience
  • Current Washington state registration as a Surgical Technologist
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers

Qualifications

  • National certification as surgical technologist (preferred)

Pay

$40.47 - $65.49 per hour. This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided. This compensation range is specific to Seattle; positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors.
