Surgical (Scrub) Tech - Weekends - $5,000 Sign on Bonus

About the Role

Under the supervision of an Operating Room Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technician (OR TECH) assists in providing nursing care to a designated population in collaboration with the members of the health care team.

Responsibilities

• Applies scientific principles in adhering to sterile technique (gowning, gloving, draping, etc.), demonstrates proper scrubbing skills, handles and passes instrumentation utilizing aseptic technique, and anticipates patient and surgeon needs.
• Assists in transfer and positioning of patients.
• Collaborates with circulating nurse in room preparation, selecting supplies, and equipment in organized fashion.
• Creates, maintains, and monitors the sterile field continuously.
• Takes responsibility for maintaining equipment and instrumentation in proper functional condition.
• Assesses and responds appropriately in an emergency situation to prioritize and meet the patients' immediate needs.
• Acts as a patient advocate and protects the patient's rights through safe and ethical practice.
• Demonstrates safe, proper, and appropriate use of sterilizers.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalency
• Certified Surgical Technician
• 1-2 years experience
