Surgical (Scrub) Tech - $10,000 Sign on Bonus

Employment Type: Full time, 12 Hour Day Shift

About the role

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus with a 2-year commitment for full-time weekend shift. The Surgical Technician (OR TECH), under the supervision of an Operating Room Registered Nurse, assists in providing nursing care to a designated population in collaboration with the members of the health care team.

Responsibilities

• Applies scientific principles in adhering to sterile technique (gowning, gloving, draping, etc.), demonstrates proper scrubbing skills, handles and passes instrumentation utilizing aseptic technique, and anticipates patient and surgeon needs.
• Assists in transfer and positioning of patients.
• Collaborates with circulating nurse in room preparation, selecting supplies, and organizing equipment.
• Creates, maintains, and monitors the sterile field continuously.
• Takes responsibility for maintaining equipment and instrumentation in proper functional condition.
• Assesses and responds appropriately in emergency situations to prioritize and meet the patients’ immediate needs.
• Acts as a patient advocate and protects the patient’s rights through safe and ethical practice.
• Demonstrates safe, proper, and appropriate use of sterilizers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Certified Surgical Technician
• 1-2 years experience
