The Surgery team at MedVet is a fast-paced environment designed for technicians looking to gain experience across various departments and interact with other teams within the hospital. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, and maintain medical records
• Fill medications, enter charges, and create patient releases
• Navigate client conversations about treatment plans and financial obligations
• Prepare patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing, and positioning
• Absorb and assist with intubation and radiographs
• Perform blood draws and submit bloodwork
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete
• Open, turn over, and clean operating rooms, as well as clean and wrap surgical instruments

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required, with previous surgery experience preferred
• Proficiency in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
