Veterinary Assistant - Surgery

The Role

The primary function of the Veterinary Assistant is to be responsible for helping with treatments of stable hospitalized patients and helping with stable outpatient diagnostics and treatments. Specifically, the Radiology Veterinary Assistant will complete all floor assistant duties, assist in Radiology with day-to-day responsibilities, and assist in Ultrasounds.

Requirements

• Passionate about improving skills in the veterinary field

• Experience in veterinary assisting or related field
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
• Knowledge of radiology techniques and equipment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current, unrestricted license to practice veterinary assisting in the state of Nevada
• Basic knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift and move patients as needed

Pay

Vet Assistant I: $18.45 - $25.30/Hr. The pay scale is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system. Shift differentials apply for night and weekend shifts.

Schedule

Shifts are typically from 6 PM to 8 AM, but may vary based on department needs. Shift differentials are provided for night and weekend work.
