Surface Land Representative
The Role
The Surface Land Representative supports environmental, construction, remediation, excavation, facility abandonment, and oil & gas projects by coordinating property access activities, conducting site investigations, supporting utility coordination, and assisting project teams with field execution. This role serves as a key liaison between project stakeholders, operators, clients, field personnel, and property owners to help ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What You’ll Be Doing
Serve as a primary point of contact regarding project access activities and land use considerations
Coordinate project access requirements with clients, project managers, and field personnel
Build and maintain positive working relationships with property owners, operators, clients, and stakeholders
Address project access concerns and assist with resolving field access challenges
Support project teams in identifying and coordinating site-specific requirements
Conduct site visits to evaluate access requirements and project constraints
Coverage with property owners, operators, utility representatives, and field personnel to identify utilities, flowlines, water lines, electrical systems, and other infrastructure that may impact project activities
Document site conditions and communicate findings to project teams
Assist with excavation and construction planning efforts by identifying access and utility-related risks
Assist with permitting and property-related documentation as needed
Collaborate with project managers, operations personnel, safety teams, and clients to support successful project execution
Maintain accurate records of communications, site visits, project activities, and access-related requirements
Track project status and outstanding action items
Prepare reports, correspondence, and project documentation
Maintain organized project files in accordance with company and client requirements
Required
1–3 years of experience in land services, right-of-way, surface land, environmental consulting, oil & gas operations, utility coordination, or a related field
Experience working directly with property owners, field personnel, clients, or stakeholders
Working knowledge of oil & gas operations, environmental projects, excavation activities, or land access requirements
Strong communication and relationship management skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Reliable transportation for field visits
Valid driver's license
Authorization to work in the United States
PREFERRED
3+ years of surface land or right-of-way experience
Experience supporting oil & gas, environmental remediation, reclamation, construction, or utility projects
Experience reviewing property records, plats, easements, and land ownership information
Membership in relevant industry organizations
Work Environment
This role involves a combination of office, remote, and field-based work. Field & Office Conditions Regular travel to project sites, client locations, and field operations, Work in varying weather conditions and terrain, Exposure to construction sites, oil & gas facilities, agricultural properties, and undeveloped land, Frequent interaction with clients, project teams, property owners, and regulatory stakeholders, Ability to work independently while supporting multiple active projects, Travel Regular local and regional travel, Schedule Full-time Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Occasional overtime required based on project demands
Required Education & Experience
1–3 years of relevant experience in land services, right-of-way, environmental consulting, oil & gas operations, utility coordination, or related industries
Experience supporting field operations and project coordination
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, if needed
