SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN)

This position is in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) under 10 USC 1599f and does not convey eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service. It supports the mission of the US Cyber Command and is classified as a Supervision/Management role at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure, located in the DISA Hybrid Infrastructure Line of Business.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, review, and coordinate work operations.
• Establish and maintain a system of internal management controls for the assigned program area, including development, documentation, and operation of internal processes and administrative/technical controls.
• Lead in developing and maintaining strategic plans.
• Assess policy needs and develop policies to guide IT activities.
• Provide policy guidance to IT management, staff, and customers.
• Define current and future business environments.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
• This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
• Must complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements within 12 months as per DoD 8140 policy series.
• Requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• This is a drug-testing designated position.
• This is a Mission Essential position.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Attention to Detail: Experience reviewing your own information technology-related work or data and responsibility for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
• Customer Service: Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing current and future IT needs, and tailoring IT products or services to meet those needs.
• Oral Communication: Briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of IT systems, projects, or daily operations, including communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Problem Solving: Identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive IT-related issues, including anticipating problems and evaluating potential solutions.

For the GG-14 level, your resume must describe at least one year of qualifying experience, defined as:

• Working directly with senior organizational leadership, enterprise executives, or key stakeholders to coordinate enterprise hosting and IT infrastructure operations.
• Defending, negotiating, or justifying technical site requirements (such as compute, space, or power resources) to support existing workloads and manage the implementation of new data center technologies.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-14 grade level.

• If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
• A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
• This position is subject to a one-year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
• You may be required to serve a two-year period during which your fitness and continued employment will be evaluated.
• Telework availability will be based on mission requirements and supervisory determination.
• Moving costs and recruitment, relocation, or retention incentives may be authorized.
• This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 and is subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements.
• This position has been designated as "Mission Essential," requiring you to report to work or relocate within the United States during local/national emergencies.
