Tenant Services at Father Joe's Villages focuses on helping residents build stability, maintain independence, and thrive. Many residents face health conditions, behavioral health challenges, disabilities, or other barriers that make maintaining a safe and healthy living environment difficult. Supportive Housing Custodians work alongside residents, assisting with housekeeping, developing routines, and fostering long-term housing stability.

The Role
- Provide custodial services within tenant units and common areas, including cleaning, sanitation, organization, and related housekeeping activities.
- Coach and assist tenants in maintaining clean, safe, and functional living spaces through hands-on support, encouragement, and skill-building.
- Build trusting, professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries and promoting dignity and respect.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of tenant interactions, custodial activities, and related services in assigned systems.
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Approach to Services (MAS) meetings by providing updates regarding tenant engagement, living environment concerns, and service needs.
- Collaborate closely with case managers, Tenant Services Coordinators, housing staff, and other team members to support coordinated tenant services.
Desirable Candidate Profile
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least one year of responsible work experience demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow established procedures.
- Experience in custodial services, housekeeping, environmental services, residential support, hospitality, healthcare, supportive housing, or similar settings is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, disabilities, or substance use disorders is preferred.
- A valid California Driver's License is required.

- Knowledge of custodial practices, sanitation procedures, and safe use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ability to support tenants in developing housekeeping routines and independent living skills while respecting tenant choice and dignity.

- Ability to recognize and communicate safety, maintenance, sanitation, and tenant wellness concerns.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position supporting Permanent Supportive Housing communities across Father Joe's Villages. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday; however, occasional flexibility may be required to meet operational or tenant needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $20.27 to $23.31 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis.
- Final placement and starting pay rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, certification status, and internal equity considerations.
