Support Services Clerk
About the role
The Oregon Department of Transportation's Commerce and Compliance Division (CCD), Business Operations / Support Services unit in Salem, is hiring an Office Specialist 1 – Support Services Clerk. Each employee in the Division must be aware of and adhere to OAR 740-020-0010 and ORS 823.007; failure to follow applicable administrative rules and statutes may impact employment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily outgoing mail by sealing, weighing, labeling, and logging items for shipment via USPS and other services.
- Enter and verify data from multiple sources into computer systems, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Operate and maintain office equipment such as scanners, folding machines, and labeling tools, including routine cleaning and troubleshooting.
- Review and process financial documents, including payments, refunds, and account corrections.
- Scan and image documents for retention, perform quality checks, and re-scan as needed to ensure clarity and completeness.
- Provide clerical support by updating customer records, retrieving files, and assisting staff with training and procedure development as needed.

Qualifications
One year of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR an equivalent combination of experience and college coursework or training in a general office occupation.

Pay
$3,513 – $4,308 monthly (non-PERS range). If already a participating PERS member or once PERS eligible, the salary range increases by 6.95%.
