Job Responsibilities

Provides support to the Department's offices locally and statewide.

  • Provides light or heavy manual labor as required for relocating Department office furniture items locally and around the state.
  • Performs installation of furniture items to include but not limited to hanging wall items, installing desk accessories, and installing building items which has Department responsibility.
  • Reviews and responds to Labor Service Manager requests.
  • Reviews agency move spreadsheets and provides solutions to move requests.
  • Maintains an inventory of Department office surplus furniture items.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or required by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
  • Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Lifting requirements: 75 lbs.
  • Must travel occasionally to statewide South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (the Department) locations to pick up state property.
  • In-office role.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience working with receiving, checking, storing, and delivering materials/supplies.
  • Knowledge of supply practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to accurately maintain supply or inventory control records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
  • Working knowledge of the practices and procedures of receiving, checking, storing, and delivering materials/supplies.
  • Ability to drive a large, standard transmission truck.
  • Must be attentive to details.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare forms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, interns, and co-workers.
