About the role

We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to support our battery cell supply chain development for Tesla products. This role reports to the Supply Chain Group Manager and collaborates closely with various Engineering groups within Tesla.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain strategy for battery cells encompassing the full product lifecycle (cost analysis, contract negotiations, line ramp-ups, daily supply management, risk mitigation, and program sunsetting)

  • Drive supplier performance, prioritizing continuity of supply with factory teams

  • Conduct cost analysis, drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad hoc price negotiations, evaluate supplier core competencies, and competitive positioning using should cost models

  • Analyze supplier proposals and line up roadmaps to match Tesla’s future developments, working with engineering to evaluate product tradeoffs (cost, performance, timelines)

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing processes and a keen interest in battery cell processes

  • Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in supply chain or battery engineering

$104,000 - $192,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
