SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- WRESTLING (ASSISTANT COACH)

POSITION GOAL

The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are responsible for leading and managing athletic programs at Plantation High School.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement training programs for athletes.
• Manage team logistics including scheduling practices and games.
• Provide guidance and instruction to athletes in their respective sports.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding athletics.
• Maintain a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Standard high school diploma or GED.
• Florida Educator Certificate or Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach it.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience coaching at the high school level.
• Previous administrative experience in athletics.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, running, and standing for extended periods.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Temporary/Subs work calendar.
• Nonexempt classification.
• New Hire Teacher Salary and Classroom Monitor Hourly Rate information available upon request.

CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate or obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.

COMPETENCIES

Ability to manage teams, communicate effectively, and adhere to safety protocols.

SKILLS

Knowledge of the sport, teaching abilities, computer proficiency, and organizational skills.
