SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- FOOTBALL (ASSISTANT COACH)

POSITION GOAL

The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are responsible for leading and managing athletic teams, providing instruction, and ensuring the safety and welfare of participants.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement training programs for athletes.
• Manage team practices and games, adhering to league rules and regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to athletes, including individual and team development plans.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other staff members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Standard high school diploma or GED.
• Florida Educator Certificate for the Head Coach.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach it.
• Computer skills as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience coaching at the high school level.
• Previous administrative experience in athletics.
• Leadership and motivational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
• Standing, walking, and bending throughout the day.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Temporary/Subs work calendar.
• Nonexempt classification.
• New Hire Teacher Salary and Classroom Monitor Hourly Rate information available upon request.

CERTIFICATIONS

• Head Coach must hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate.
• Assistant Coach must complete an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education if they do not already hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate.
