About the Role
Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are available. Coaches are responsible for teaching and developing student athletes in the sport, ensuring safety, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Teach and coach the fundamentals, strategies, and rules of the sport.
- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
- Assess player skills and assign team positions.
- Monitor academic eligibility of student athletes.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and officials.
- Demonstrate computer skills as required for the position (e.g., scheduling, record-keeping, communication).
Requirements
Head Coach
- Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of a General Education Development (GED) Testing Program.
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate or Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education (required by Florida State Statute).
- Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach and develop athletes.
Assistant Coach
- Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
- Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach and develop athletes.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
Pay
Compensation follows the district’s new-hire teacher salary schedule for Head Coaches and the classroom monitor hourly rate schedule for Assistant Coaches. View salary information.
