SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- BOYS & GIRLS TENNIS (HEAD COACH)

Location: J.P. Taravella High School, Coral Springs

About the Role

This position is responsible for coaching and developing student athletes in the specified sport, ensuring adherence to school and district policies, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
• Instruct athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Oversee the safety and well-being of all participants.
• Coordinate with school administration and athletic directors on scheduling, equipment, and logistics.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development among student athletes.

Requirements

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Knowledge of the sport and the ability to effectively teach and mentor student athletes.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Qualifications

• Head Coach: Valid Florida Educator Certificate or the ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
• Assistant Coach: No additional certification required beyond the minimum qualifications.

Schedule

Temporary/Substitute position with an open advertisement window until filled.

Pay

Compensation follows the district’s new hire teacher salary schedule or hourly rate for classroom monitors, as applicable.
