POSITION GOAL
The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are responsible for leading and managing athletic programs at NORTHEAST HIGH in OAKLAND PARK.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement training programs for athletes.
- Manage team logistics including scheduling practices and games.
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The Head Coach
- Standard high school diploma or GED.
- Florida Educator Certificate.
- Knowledge of the sport and ability to impart this knowledge.
The Assistant Coach
- Standard high school diploma or GED.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved GED Testing Program.
- Knowledge of the activity and ability to impart this knowledge.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Previous coaching experience.
- Experience working with diverse groups of students.
- Leadership roles in extracurricular activities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Positions require the ability to:
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Travel to various locations as needed.
- Work evenings and weekends as necessary.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Temporary/Subs.
- Nonexempt classification.
CERTIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate or obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
