SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY - ASST COACH CHEERLEADING

Position Goal

The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions at NOVA HIGH SCHOOL are seeking individuals with the necessary qualifications and experience to lead and support student athletes.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs for student athletes.
• Provide guidance and instruction on the rules and strategies of the sport.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of student athletes.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure the success of the team.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and school policies.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Florida State Statute requires a valid Florida Educator Certificate for the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach must have a knowledge of the activity and be able to impart this knowledge.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach it effectively.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience coaching at the high school level.
• Previous administrative experience in athletics.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

Positions require physical stamina and the ability to work long hours during practices and games.

• Temporary/Subs classification.
• New Hire Teacher Salary Information available upon request.
• Classroom Monitor Hourly Rate Information available upon request.

Certifications

Valid Florida Educator Certificate for the Head Coach.
