SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY- CHEERLEADING (HEAD COACH)

POSITION GOAL

The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are responsible for leading and managing athletic teams in accordance with state regulations and school policies.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement training programs for athletes.
  • Manage team logistics including scheduling practices and games.
  • Provide guidance and support to athletes to improve their performance and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance team performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
  • Florida State Statute requires all high school coaches to hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate.
  • Applicants without a valid Florida Educator Certificate must obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
  • Knowledge of the sport and the ability to impart this knowledge.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of the activity and ability to impart this knowledge to participants.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements include but are not limited to: standing for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate or obtain an Athletic Coaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
