SUPPLEMENTAL ONLY-CHEERLEADING (HEAD COACH)
Position Goal
The Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions are available at Plantation High School.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Develop and implement coaching strategies and practices aligned with the school's mission and values.
- Provide daily supervision and instruction to student athletes.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding athletics.
- Collaborate with other coaches, teachers, and administrators to support student development.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
The Head Coach must hold a valid Florida Educator Certificate. The Assistant Coach must have a standard high school diploma or GED, along with knowledge of the activity and computer skills as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Prior coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and strong communication skills are preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work extended hours during game days, travel to away games, and perform physical activities related to coaching.
Significant Contacts
Contact with students, parents, other coaches, and administrative staff is frequent and essential for the success of the program.
Terms of Employment
This is a temporary/substitute position. The employment period is open until filled.
Skills
Effective communication, leadership, teamwork, and adaptability are key skills for both positions.
Competencies
Strategic planning, organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively are important competencies for the Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles.
Certifications
A valid Florida Educator Certificate is required for the Head Coach position. Computer skills may be required for the Assistant Coach position.
