SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER.
About the role
You will define objectives and constraints; sets priorities; determines organizational guidelines. You will assure all employees receive equal consideration in determining qualifications, selections, training, details, promotions, reassignments, discipline, and awards. You will provide input to the planning of long-range programs. You will initiate actions to ensure that branch skills, personnel mix, and facilities will develop to support these long-range programs, while maintaining sufficient flexibility to accommodate changes.
Requirements
Conditions of employment: Must be a US Citizen, determined suitable for federal employment, and participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
- Must participate in medical surveillance programs
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing
- Must wear personal protective equipment as required
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a Professional Mechanical Engineer providing technical guidance and oversight on engineering ship projects in order to create solutions on the design, installation, or operation of mechanical systems.
Education: Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree, or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
