Supervising Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Supervising Mechanical Engineer to join our team in either Richmond, VA or Washington D.C. Responsibilities

• Represent the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
• Supervise, coordinate, and assign various projects to the team.
• Serve as the Engineer of Record on dedicated projects and lead coordination meetings.
• Lead and supervise staff members in their tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
• Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
• Supervise the preparation of reports and analysis of system options and building conditions.
• Maintain interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/project consultants.
• Monitor correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, owners, etc.
• Supervise construction administrative duties such as field reports, responses to RFIs, processing bulletins, and addenda.
• Conduct periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations.
• Participate in and contribute to the business unit Technical Leadership Committee.
• Assist Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in business unit technical training and staff mentoring.

Requirements

• Current PE registration.
• Healthcare design experience.
• Experience with projects such as Healthcare, Federal, Critical Facilities, Commercial, and Aviation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution.
• 7+ years of Project Management experience.
• 10+ years' experience working in a consulting firm, with a background in the MEP Engineering Industry.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience.
