Supervising Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Supervising Mechanical Engineer to join our team in either Richmond, VA or Washington D.C. Responsibilities
- Represent the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
- Supervise, coordinate, and assign various projects to the team.
- Serve as the Engineer of Record on dedicated projects and lead coordination meetings.
- Lead and supervise staff members in their tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
- Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
- Supervise the preparation of reports and analysis of system options and building conditions.
- Maintain interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/project consultants.
- Monitor correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, owners, etc.
- Supervise construction administrative duties such as field reports, responses to RFIs, processing bulletins, and addenda.
- Conduct periodic objective and comprehensive employee evaluations.
- Participate in and contribute to the business unit Technical Leadership Committee.
- Assist Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in business unit technical training and staff mentoring.
Requirements
- Current PE registration.
- Healthcare design experience.
- Experience with projects such as Healthcare, Federal, Critical Facilities, Commercial, and Aviation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Institution.
- 7+ years of Project Management experience.
- 10+ years' experience working in a consulting firm, with a background in the MEP Engineering Industry.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience.
