AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

As a Mechanical Controls Engineer on our Data Center Engineering team, you will ensure the operational integrity and reliability of critical data center infrastructure systems that power the world's largest cloud computing platform.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical data center infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability
• Perform root cause analysis on infrastructure failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all data center critical systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and construction teams to support capacity delivery and infrastructure improvements
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency operating procedures (EOPs) for infrastructure systems
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and safety across the data center portfolio
• Support commissioning and validation activities for new infrastructure deployments and upgrades
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
• Experience in commissioning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
• Bachelor's degree

Pay

The base salary range for this position is:

• USA, OH, Columbus: $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
• USA, TX, Austin: $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
• USA, VA, Herndon: $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
• USA, WA, Bellevue: $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually
