Supervisory Intelligence Specialist (GMI Analyst).

About the Role

Serves as a Senior Imagery Analyst, responsible for supervising command and subordinate units' requirements for digital imagery collection, exploitation, dissemination, soft copy and hardcopy photographic products, exploitation, and dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Develops command policies for imagery and full motion video products, annotation requirements, scales of mosaics, three-dimensional models, numbers and types of hard copy photographic prints.
• Technically and administratively supervises, plans, and coordinates the work of subordinates assigned to the section. Determines priorities, assigns, reviews, and accepts or rejects work.
• Supervises requirements, determines administrative needs, and takes action to ensure these are met.
• Coordinates with senior-level officials at various national, theater, service-specific, tactical, and other organizations/units to ensure command collection and production requirements are processed and satisfied in a timely manner.
• Coordinates and monitors imagery/imagery-derived products to ensure optimum accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• May require TDY travel over more than 30 days to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 30% of the time. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
• This position is designated as Key under Section 1580 of Title 10, United States Code (U.S.C.). The position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization.
• Incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligation.
• Requires a pre-employment physical and thereafter prior to OCONUS travel over 30 days.
• Must be able to maintain qualifications for required access to perform temporary duty.
• This position is deployable and may require extended TDY to OCONUS locations.
• Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of Fort Bragg (50 miles).
• Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and selected Special Access Programs (SAPs) based on a Tier 5 (or equivalent) investigation.
• A Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) is required for TS/SCI access and must be completed prior to hiring and periodically thereafter.

To qualify based on experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience, which includes:

• Serving as an expert advisor on imagery and full motion video exploitation responsible for managing tactical analysis, coordinating with national collection managers, and/or developing command policies for intelligence products.
• Supervising the technical and administrative areas of teams within complex operational environments by optimizing workforce staffing and workflows.
• Coordinating and monitoring imagery-derived products to ensure optimum accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience should include intelligence-related research, analysis, collections, and/or operations.

Additional Information

• This is an emergency essential position ensuring the success of combat operations or supporting essential combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis.
• Incumbent may be required to deploy on very short notice to potentially high-threat, hostile OCONUS environments and undergo specific training and immunization requirements.
• Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location.
• May be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercise and real-world crisis deployments.
• Requires travel, CONUS and OCONUS, as well as frequently extended duty with long hours under high pressure and generally high-risk job responsibilities.
• This position requires a 2-year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
