SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Environmental Section.
• Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Environmental Section, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meeting customer needs.
• Exercise 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more duty time.
• Represent the Environmental element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
• Communicate and coordinate base Environmental matters with higher headquarters, regulatory agencies and community officials as needed.
• Direct the development and execution of the Environment budget.

• Designated Drug Testing Position
• Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
• The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required.
• May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency.
• Professional registration or license in one of the 50 states or territories is desired but not required.
• The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional engineering/scientific principles, practices, techniques, regulations, and procedures to effectively perform supervisory functions associated with environmental compliance and restoration project development, execution, training, and advisory services.
• Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; common business and economic principles, theories, concepts, and procedures; financial management principles and standards; and of the Department of Defense (DoD) planning, programming and budgeting system (PPBS).
• Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Skill in evaluating state-of-the-art scientific and engineering technologies and incorporating into environmental compliance and restoration.
• Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct the work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources; and to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior officials from a broad array of activities, including federal and local government, and industry.

Pay

2026 Salary Range: $89,508.00-$138,370.00/Yearly with locality (includes locality).
