Supervisory Aide (2 positions)
This is a full-time, school-year position requiring 40 hours per week with varied shifts of 8 hours per day between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Holidays, sick, and personal leave are provided per Board Policy and/or Collective Bargaining Agreement. Insurance is available as per District guidelines, and employees participate in the IMRF Pension Plan.

- Successful completion of criminal background check
- Evidence of physical fitness and freedom from communicable disease
- CPI certification preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to a diverse group

Responsibilities
The Supervisory Aide helps maintain the effective operation of the school by implementing Restorative Practice and PBIS methods to encourage appropriate student engagement. This role requires effective communication with students, parents, and staff to foster a positive school culture and ensure a secure, safe environment.
Essential Duties
- Work directly with students to resolve conflicts, discipline, and behavior situations using a student-centered, restorative approach, including modeling.
- Monitor and report irregularities and safety issues such as fire hazards, unlocked security doors, and unusual activity.
- Regulate pedestrian traffic at the school's entrance and in halls to maintain orderly flow.
- Monitor halls and surrounding school premises for truancy.
- Check for students' hall passes and tardy slips.
- Direct authorized visitors to their proper destination and report unauthorized visitors to the building office.
- Record data for supervisory staff, such as student conflicts or unusual occurrences.
- Report tardiness, truancies, and related incidents to the appropriate school administrator.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the school principal or designee.
Principle Duties
- Supervise students before and after school, in the cafeteria, hallways, and other designated areas.
- Establish positive, collaborative working relationships with school administrators, staff, and students.
- Carry out activities aimed at improving school climate and addressing barriers to learning.
- Consult with school support personnel (e.g., social workers, psychologists, behavior specialists) to assess student needs and ensure at-risk students receive appropriate services.
- Ensure inclusive opportunities for students to engage in school climate improvement.
- Work with building staff to document successes, challenges, and best practices in school climate strategies.
- Provide feedback to the leadership team on the progress of culture and climate goals.
- Report discipline infractions, unauthorized visitors, safety violations, and acts of vandalism to the Principal.
- Monitor student behavior in hallways and promote positive responsibility by serving as a role model.
- Respond to emergency situations and assist students during evacuations.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, or building/department policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information in accordance with the law and Board policies.
- Perform other student supervisory duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

- Mobility to escort children throughout the school setting.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Clarity of vision at varying distances to monitor students.

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
