Supervisor, Speech Therapy STC- Full-time- Vista
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8-hour shift (40 hours per week). Weekend work as needed; no on-call requirement.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $47.37 – $68.68. The stated scale reflects the range Sharp reasonably expects to pay; actual rate and pay grade depend on experience, skills, education, alignment with internal candidates, marketplace factors, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Supervisor is accountable for delivering quality patient care and managing the operations of the assigned area or program. Responsibilities include leadership, facilitation, and coordination of clinical and operational activities, serving as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource for the healthcare team. The role supports the Medical Center’s mission and values and adheres to its Service Care Program. The Supervisor must provide care appropriate to the age of the patient population served.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment, including unit-based safety and infection control requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise staff and services.
- Evaluate and optimize team effectiveness and progression toward desired outcomes.
- Conduct employee recruitment, retention, performance appraisals, and coaching/counseling.
- Ensure adequate staffing and utilize resources to improve business practices.
- Participate in program planning and development, including budgetary planning.
- Assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide direct patient care.
- Monitor operating and budgetary performance (FTEs, timecards, use of per-diems).
- Set performance standards and motivate staff toward achievement.
- May act as Interim Rehab Coordinator with duties including:
- Clinical rounding with Medical Director for Acute Rehab Unit admission decisions.
- Completion of Pre-Admission Screening on Acute Rehab admissions.
- Attendance at Interdisciplinary Conferences to facilitate patient care coordination.
- Completion of all IRF-PAI assessments (Admission/Discharge FIM and Quality Indicators, reporting therapy minutes).
- Review and revision of department policies and procedures.
- Management of discipline-specific staff meetings.
- Collaboration with other rehabilitation leadership to improve performance workflow.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology.
- 3 years of clinical experience.
- 2 years of supervisory or lead role experience.
- Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license (CA Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification.
