Supervisor - Security Specialist

Primary Duties

  • Serve as the POC regarding SCI classified shipments through the DOD courier system.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to all organizations regarding shipment of classified material in accordance with NGA guidance.
  • Enforce and monitor any/all policy changes provided by NGA.
  • Alert and inform proper officials in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect security.
  • Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
  • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide appropriate information.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of warehouse and supply operations experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must successfully pass all pre-employment background screening requirements, including pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with possible Polygraph.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities

  • May occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
  • May escort or drive motor vehicles to transport individuals to specified locations.
  • May operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
  • May warn persons of rule infractions or violations.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervisor of Security Specialist I, II, III and Visitor Control personnel.
  • Participates in scheduling work, hiring, firing, discipline, advancement, and promotion of assigned personnel.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly stand, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally walk and sit.
  • Occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
