Position Summary
The Supervisor, Security is responsible for overseeing daily security operations at assigned locations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, assets and sensitive materials. They play a critical role in risk mitigation, incident response, and maintaining the integrity of security systems of the organization.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide oversight at assigned locations of the contracted security entity to ensure performance standards and protocols are adhered to.
- Ensure all security policies and protocols are adhered to by SIG SAUER employees and guests.
- As assigned, assist with the oversight of the property removal and arrival process.
- Provide oversight of key and badge issuance, and inventory.
- Review security logs and reports for assigned facilities and assignment of follow-up actions.
- Liaise with site HR representatives, or legal representatives, and assist as needed with investigations of employee policy violations, ethical concerns or other reported violations of the SIG SAUER Code of Conduct.
- Keep leadership current on issues.
- Remove termed employees and all other persons without authorized access from SIG SAUER facilities.
- Liaise and communicate with external stakeholders such as law enforcement and other local, state and federal agencies, as required.
- Aid the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team with investigation of safety violations, injuries, near-miss safety events, medical events and all other safety related incidents.
- Aid EHS with site evacuations.
- Assist in pre-employment interviews on selected candidates and report any concerns to Recruiting.
- Mentor site contracted security supervisors and officers.
- Initiate and support policy development that apply to SIG SAUER employees, guests, and vendors.
- Provide input to other departments during the development of procedures that may impact security operations.
- Provide oversight of all range activities to include compliance with all safety and security requirements, and develop and implement all policies and protocols at all site ranges.
- Complete investigations of range related issues (abhorrent behavior, property damage, and unsafe practices).
- Liaise with all company departments to ensure security standards are met without negatively impacting operations or high-profile events.
- Work with all company departments to ensure all operations adhere to security standards, while not hindering productivity.
- Utilize a robust, integrated security camera and alarm system for both routine monitoring and in furtherance of investigations.
- Evaluate and coordinate security upgrades and repairs of security equipment with outside vendors for assigned locations.
- Regularly meet with the contracted security management team to provide feedback on their performance, identifying areas of opportunity and initiating corrective actions to improve performance.
- Prepare investigative reports.
- Submit purchase orders as necessary and monitor budget balances for assigned sites.
- Review operations on a continuous basis for cost savings potential in contracted security cost.
- Provide support 24/7, on-site or via phone, to address security concerns and/or events.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects and tasks.
- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
Education/Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 7-10 years of previous work experience required.
- Detective or investigative experience required, prior law enforcement experience preferred.
- Previous experience in security operations, and a strong knowledge of security protocols is preferred.
- Knowledge of local firearms laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience with ATF compliance preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and experience in security surveillance technology preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work as a member of a team.
- Proven experience in prioritizing tasks, ensuring appropriate coverage and timely security responses.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to navigate in an environment of constant change.
