About the role
The Security Guard Lead position at San Antonio Aerospace is a key role within the company's security team. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, maintaining records, and conducting various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all guard posts are manned and equipped with necessary tools.
- Review daily activity reports and submit any necessary information to the Director, Facilities for review.
- Notify the alarm monitoring company and insurance company regarding maintenance and alarm testing.
- Monitor sprinkler riser testing and document results.
- Maintain fire panel monitoring to ensure there are no faults.
- Submit weekly guard schedules to the Director, Facilities.
- Ensure compliance with airport security requirements and post relevant bulletins.
- Notify the Director, Facilities of any incidents involving Fire/EMS/Police on VT-SAA property.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian access to the facility.
- Conduct random searches of incoming and exiting vehicles when authorized.
- Ensure proper identification is issued and maintained for all employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
- Protect company property and assist guards in checking bags and backpacks.
- Transport individuals for training, drug tests, medical issues, customers, pilots, etc., when required.
- Make badges for employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
- Monitor and review video surveillance equipment, report any violations, and conduct interviews as needed.
- Document and brief senior management during investigations, ensuring confidentiality.
Requirements
- Some security background experience required, though not expected.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Must be able to follow directions and maintain interpersonal relationships.
- Physical demands include climbing stairs, walking, bending, standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and working in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some knowledge of security.
- Ability to obtain a Security Level III license from the State of Texas Private Security Board.
