About the role
Supervises a team of security personnel including guards. Monitors, audits, and maintains contract security requirements and communication under the direction of the Security Director, while maintaining constant communication with Building Management.
Responsibilities
- Patrols buildings and grounds of establishments, docks, and worksites, logging information.
- Supervises a team of security personnel.
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine they are secure.
- Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
- Reports irregularities such as fire hazards and security breaches.
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Sounds alarm or calls police/fire department by telephone in case of emergency.
- Checks DVR video recorders daily, logging, signing, and dating shifts to ensure they display live pictures and operate 24/7.
- Communicates with the Security Director regarding scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Conducts written Security Officer and Building Safety Audits as necessary, including mandatory weekly/monthly inspections.
- Conducts daily security post-inspections to ensure continuous compliance and guard alertness.
- Performs truck log and yard checks, verifying that post equipment functions according to operational standards.
- Provides a written report of any deficiencies and reports suspicious activity, including unethical behavior among co-workers, clients, and contractors.
- Permits authorized persons to enter property.
- Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips.
- Records data such as property damage and unusual occurrences for management.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow.
Requirements
- 5 years of security guard experience + 1 year of supervisory experience in a security role.
- You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

- Education and/or experience in security or related field.
