About the Role

As the Supervisor of Region Operations, you will manage technicians in specific service areas to deliver quality residential and business communications services profitably while adhering to company policies, procedures, and directives. You will develop and maintain an aggressive, knowledgeable, customer-focused team that promotes and sells Lumen products and services, ensuring a service experience that exceeds customer expectations.

Location

This position is based in Vancouver, WA, with responsibilities supporting surrounding areas, including Portland, OR.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of outside and inside plant network services and technicians, including installation and maintenance of residential, business, central office, design services, and splicing activities.
  • Serve as the single point of contact between CenturyLink and contractors to resolve issues during construction and/or maintenance.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on new processes, quality standards, customer contact, safety, expense control, and technical skills.
  • Lead a team of technicians to meet attendance and performance standards.
  • Represent CenturyLink with customers and governmental agencies.
  • Collaborate with the union to achieve a win-win working relationship.
  • Celebrate successes and use rewards and recognition appropriately.
  • Motivate the team for continuous improvement and maximum performance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing teams within a telecom technical environment (typically 4+ years).
  • Strong skills in employee development, including training, coaching, and mentoring in a union environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel, email, Word, and legacy systems.
  • Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of residential and business services, Local Network processes, and a fundamental understanding of services and products offered by CenturyLink.
  • Working knowledge of the splicing and construction process for the telecommunication industry.
  • Working knowledge of contractor relations.
  • Ability to work consultatively with others: establish rapport, interview, fact-find, present options, recommend solutions, follow up, and demonstrate customer-focused behavior.
  • Experience in a multi-tasking, results-oriented position within a deadline-focused department.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, with 5+ years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience managing teams within a telecom technical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of POTS and HSI.
  • 2+ years of experience with Excel, email, and legacy systems.
  • Duty management work scheduled on a rotation basis, including pager duty.
  • Ability to work varying tours and hours, including possible mandatory overtime and holidays.
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and perform under pressure.
  • Ability to negotiate timeframes for completion and meet critical deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate with coworkers to complete job assignments.

Pay

Location-based pay ranges:

  • $93,092 - $124,122 in Washington (WA).
  • $88,860 - $118,480 in Oregon (OR).

Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Additional information about Lumen’s bonus structure (short-term incentives, long-term incentives, and/or sales compensation) will be provided during the selection process.
